A journey to explore
Japanese swords in
"Another Kyoto"

The ancient capital of Kyoto, with a history of over 1,200 years, is home to numerous, Shinto shrines, and Buddhist temples, and has attracted many people since ancient times as a capital of culture, entertainment, religion, and manufacturing.
The Tango Peninsula, located in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, is “another Kyoto” that has developed its own culture, history, and craftsmanship through exchanges with the continent as a gateway to the sea.
This tour offers a rare opportunity to see and experience firsthand the craftsmanship that has taken root in this region.
We will guide you into the fascinating world of Japanese spirituality and traditional craftsmanship through dialogues and interactions with artisans, including the new forge “Nippon Genshosha,” where the techniques and spirituality of the Japanese sword are passed on to the next generation.
